Ashly is a Denton enthusiast and was so excited to be a small part of such a big project. I am a diverse creative with varied skills from many many years of project hopping. I never know when techniques from 14 hyperfixations ago are going to apply to the next thing. I’m a community taught artist and love to learn from others. This project has been a great way for me to exercise my varied skills while also experimenting with new mediums and collaborating with everyone involved. Most of my painting was done with a pug in my lap, her name is Lucy and she is excellent at bumping my arm right when I’m painting the smallest and most important details.

    Tracy Runnels

Tracy has been here since the 1900s and raised 3 children as Dentonites. A commercial real estate appraiser and Managing Partner of TM Appraisal Associates on the square, she's very much an architecture and downtown nerd with a love for the area and characters that tell the Denton story. Her husband, Ben Runnels, will have nightmares about 3D printing tree trunks for eternity. An all around creative, she lends her plethora of varied creative, mechanical, and organizational skills to building community through volunteerism for multiple organizations currently serving as Board President of Interfaith Ministries of Denton. She was allowed to join by promising to bring snacks and jokes to meetups, only later finding she had a special talent for tiny landscaping. This is her first group diorama, having not done one since helping her grown kids in school, but it won't be the last!

    Artist For: Landscaping & Trees.
